~ There is no specific treatment (no vaccine or antibiotics) for Monkey pox but, those who have gotten the smallpox vaccine are 85% likely not to contract Monkey pox.
Prevention
The only thing you can do to prevent Monkey pox is to have already had the smallpox vaccine and to try to stay away from the animals you can contract it from. Such as monkeys, squirrels, rats, and prairie dogs.
Future
The CDC and WHO will continue to track any possible outbreaks of Monkey pox. Since 2011 research on Monkey pox has been going on by using animal models to test the effectiveness of different vaccinations. They have found that because of the close relationship of smallpox, genetic comparison and genetic alteration are likely to be available in the future along with rapid detection tests. Possibly some of these tests could lead to a cure. Tests like these seem to be the only way Monkey pox is useful.
